Certification Test Technician

This is an on-site position and you must live in or be willing to relocate to Southern California. JOB SUMMARY

The Certification Test Technician is responsible for developing and executing test lab set up and conducting of developmental and certification testing for both Seats and Furniture. Test types include but are not limited to component, static, dynamic, abuse, cycle and flammability.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES - Essential Functions (Other duties and projects may be assigned or requested.)

  • Set-up, conduct and monitor dynamic, static and abuse/cycle testing
  • Maintain test facility (cleanliness, organization, supplies, etc.)
  • Maintain test equipment and fixtures in good working order including calibrations, spare parts, procurement, maintenance etc.
  • Design and build/oversee build test fixtures/platforms
  • Organize tools, hardware, and materials in an easy to find, easy to use format

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS – Education, Knowledge, and Experience

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Trade School or Certification preferred

Skills:

  • Electro/mechanical background
  • Independent
  • Professional
  • Various hand tool skills: grinders, drills, hand-held power tools, files, screwdrivers, and wrenches
  • Basic woodworking including band saw, table saw, jigsaw, drill press, and miter saw operation.
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Fluent in English (written, oral)

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • FARO experience a plus
  • Welding experience a plus
  • Basic electrical knowledge (e.g., switch assembly/installation/wiring and related tools) is a plus

Other:

  • Must be able to carry 40lbs
  • Extended or irregular hours may be required
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

SUPERVISION PROVIDED TO THE POSITION

  • Direction is provided in terms of tasks and objectives. Work is reviewed upon completion on how well objectives have been met.
  • Will work autonomously with only occasional status updates with supervisor.

  • May oversee the work of others

PROBLEM SOLVING

  • Develop and provide solutions to complex problems based on established precedents and are consistent with organization objectives

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
